念奴嬌赤壁懷古

大江東去，浪淘盡，千古風流人物。故壘西邊，人道是、三國周郎赤壁。亂石崩雲，驚濤拍岸，捲起千堆雪。江山如畫，一時多少豪杰。     遙想公瑾當年，小喬初嫁了，雄姿英發。羽扇綸巾， 談笑間、檣櫓灰飛煙滅。故國神游，多情應笑我，早生華髮。人生如夢，一樽還酹江月。

Great river flows eastward.

Its waves have washed away all elegant

men and heroes of past generations.

故壘西邊，人道是、三國周郎赤壁。

West of the old fortress is said to be Zhou Yu’s Red Cliff

at the Epoch of the Three Kingdoms.

亂石崩雲，驚濤拍岸，捲起千堆雪。

Clouds-breaking rocks;

billow smiting the shore.

A thousand heaps of snow breaks off.

江山如畫，一時多少豪杰。

So picturesque are the rivers and mountains.

So many great men and heroes emerged.

遙想公瑾當年，小喬初嫁了，雄姿英發。

I fancy at the time when Zhou was married to

Xiao Qiao, his young bride.

He looked so heroic and bright.

羽扇綸巾， 談笑間、檣櫓灰飛煙滅。

With a feather fan in his hand, and

a silken scarf on his head, he watched,

in between laughter and chats,

all enemy ships were destroyed in smoke and fire.

故國神游，多情應笑我，早生華髮。

If they could revisit this land in spirit,

his passionate companion would have teased

me for being young and gray.

人生如夢，一樽還酹江月。

Life is like a dream.

Let me pour a bottle of wine

and salute the river moon that will forever shine.
